What you will learn at this facility
This facility was built upon the ideas of the townspeople in their 20s to 80s at a "tea drinking workshop."
There is a multipurpose room, a plaza, sound room, workspace where the residents can interact and disseminate information about the town.
In order to convey the disaster experienced by Naraha Town, the pillars of houses damaged by the tsunami are used in some parts of the facility.
Through the panel exhibition showing the progress of the reconstruction, the facility aims to pass on the memories and records of the disaster to future generations.

Panel exhibition
The panels showing the situation at the time of the earthquake in Naraha Town and the progress of reconstruction are on display.
The evacuation order that was issued for the entire Naraha Town after the earthquake and nuclear power plant accident was finally lifted in September 2015.
It shows the progress towards reconstruction and provides records of the disaster.

Parts of damaged houses
Naraha Town is an area that was also severely damaged by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Pillars and wooden materials of damaged houses are reused to preserve the memory of the disaster.
Chairs from demolished elementary schools are also used in the facility.
